Jonathan Huffman poured in 15 points off the bench for the Gaels (1-1), who opened their season with a victory over Hampton last week. Jermel Jenkins and Gary Springer posted 11 and 10 points, respectively, in the tough loss.

The poor offensive showcase from both clubs continued in the extra session as Bohannon's two free throws made it a 60-55 Wisconsin advantage with 31 seconds left. Iona's Rashon Dwight came through with a three-point play, but the Gaels couldn't muster another field goal after Bohannon missed two from the foul line with seven seconds remaining.

The Badgers shot a mere 7-of-21 from the field in the first half but led, 28-23, thanks to an 11-for-14 effort from the free throw line.

The shooting got worse for Wisconsin in the second half and Iona led 50-46 on a Huffman jumper with 2:56 to play. Tim Jarmusz came right down and hit a huge three-pointer and Marcus Landry's tip-in with 39 ticks remaining tied the game at 52 apiece.

Iona had two shots to steal the win, but Dwight missed a layup and Huffman was off the mark on a three-pointer at the buzzer to send the game into overtime.

Game Notes

It was the first-ever meeting between the programs...Wisconsin shot 25-of-34 at the charity stripe, while Iona only got to the line 15 times, making nine...Wisconsin's Keaton Nankivil led all players with eight rebounds.
