The Oregon product was a fourth-round selection by the Chiefs in the 2004 draft.

Last season with Denver, Mallard notched 20 tackles and 3 1/2 sacks in eight games. Over four seasons in the league, which included stints with Indianapolis and Atlanta, he has appeared in 38 games and has 38 tackles and 8 1/2 sacks.
